Enhanced ICD-10 Diagnosis Codes Accessibility

Medication and lab orders in ADL will now display the most commonly used ICD-10 codes, based on the type of order. Upon entering an order into the system, prescribers will be prompted to choose from a list of the most appropriate ICD-10 codes, based on the medication or lab that they are ordering. Users will then select one of the available options or will be able to enter a code of their choice. ADL Software Update Ready for Download

A new financial update is available:
Release Name: OFU36.01
Release Date: September 13, 2016
Webinar Date: September 12, 2016

Technical Notes:

This release is to be applied via the ADLUpdater. The package is large (about 300 MB), and may take up to 2 hours to apply. The longest parts are scripts related to the ICD update. The timeout for scripts was set to 100 minutes.

Clients should not forcefully stop the ADLUpdater unless it displays a “Could not apply the update” error message.

Since the package is large, customers may want to pre-download it prior to the scheduled down time. They can use “Download Updates” button of the ADLUpdater which will not force an update application right away. When the download is complete they will need to press the “Apply Updates” button to start update application. In this case until the “Apply Updates” button is pressed users can continue using the system.

ADL Updates must be applied sequentially according to release date, in the order specified in the ADL Updates Installation Guide, available here.

ADL Updates Support 64-bit Servers & Databases

ADL Upgrades to Windows 10

ADL has upgraded all of our development and office PCs to Windows 10. This is to provide better HIPAA security and to support major ADL software releases and advanced features/functionality. We will continue supporting the older version of Windows, however, we are recommending that all the clients upgrade to Windows 10.

This version of Windows will provide for greater security and authentication features. Catana voice, a feature of Windows 10, will enable the users to control and run applications using their voice. The new operating system provides seamless connections between the PC, Portable devices, and Smart Phones.

The Windows 10 upgrades are free until July 2016 for all licensed users of Windows. And what will Windows 10 cost you if the miss the free upgrade window or you’re running XP or Vista? On Monday, Microsoft revealed the various prices. Windows Home will retail for $119. Windows 10 Pro will sell for price of $199. And the Windows 10 Pro Pack, which lets you upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro, will cost you $99.
